Novak Djokovic - Biography

Born on May 22, 1987, in Serbia, this tennis star started playing at the age of four. He turned professional at 16, and his career took off.
Growing up in war-torn Serbia, Djokovic started playing tennis as a way to cope. He was a natural talent and quickly rose through the ranks.
Djokovic was ranked No. 1 for a record total of weeks, and finished as the year-end No. 1 a record number of times, as well as holding the record of Grand Slam men’s singles titles.
Djokovic is the only man in tennis history to be the reigning champion of all four majors at once across three different surfaces, and he won the 2024 Olympic gold medal. Off the court, Djokovic is known for his philanthropy and his advocacy for players’ rights. He served as the President of the ATP Player Council from 2016 to 2020. He is married to Jelena Djokovic Ristic and they have two children, Stefan and Tara.
He has become one of the greatest athletes in history. His dedication, perseverance, and natural talent have propelled him to the top of the sport, and will always be remembered as one of the all-time greats of tennis.
