Mike Trout

Born on August 7, 1991, in Vineland, New Jersey.


Drafted in the first round by the Los Angeles Angels in 2009.


Made his major league debut in 2011 at age 19.


Known for his five-tool skills: hitting for average, hitting for power, speed, fielding, and throwing.


Brief History



Growing up, Trout was a standout athlete in baseball, basketball, and football.


Trout played baseball and football at Millville Senior High School, where he set numerous records in both sports.


In 2009, Trout was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the first round of the MLB draft.


After just one season in the minor leagues, Trout was called up to the major leagues in 2011.

Won the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 2012.


Named the American League Most Valuable Player in 2014, 2016, and 2019.
